No Medical Exam
Term Life Insurance
No medical exam term life insurance is a policy that can be purchased without the need for a medical examination (and possibly health questions altogether) that’s usually required when applying for a policy.
These policies are meant as an alternative for individuals who may have trouble qualifying for a traditional life insurance policy.
This can be a good option to pursue for personal reasons, such as having a riskier occupation, precarious hobby, or are currently managing a pre-existing health condition. You might also want no-hassle life insurance without a waiting period.
Regardless of your reasons, we can help you find the best coverage at the right price. Our clients turn to us because we make a seemingly complex process easy!
Still not sure if you qualify? Check out our additional information below:
Who is best suited for a no exam policy?
Generally, people who are young and healthy. Individuals who are less than 35 years old and are not currently on any medications with no prior medical issues usually do not need an exam.
These policies can be the same amount as your “typical” term life insurance policy, however; you may have to pay the same premiums…but without the extra hassle!
Life insurance companies recognize that most individuals under the age of 35 have little medical history, and that the death rates in this age group are relatively low.
For this reason, most companies will sometimes provide a term life policy without requiring a full scale medical evaluation.
Additionally, they may also allow the purchase of this type of policy up to the age of 65 years depending on the individuals health history.
But not everyone falls into this category, and you may be referred an agent for help.
Luckily, at Arlington Greene we have agents available around the clock to help you find a policy that matches your needs.
Who should NOT apply for no exam policy?
If you are older than 40 years and/or have pre existing health issues, (even if they are properly managed) a medical exam with traditional underwriting may serve you better. This means getting overall better rates!
Typically after applying for an insurance policy that requires an exam, the company will send out a nurse aid. They complete the exam at your home or office free of charge for your convenience.
The nurse aid will collect some simple health information from you, such as your:
- Blood pressure
- Heart rate
- Urine sample
- Blood work
They may also have to request medical records from your doctor’s office.
With this info the insurance company will then quote you a premium/cost for the desired policy.
It’s best to get policy quotes from different companies so you can find the most coverage for best price. That’s why we suggest having an expert agent to help!
